Bokeh Technique

Bokah Card

Bokah examples

Happy Saturday!  I saw this cool video from WPlus 9 that teaches how to do the Bokeh technique easily.  You can find it here.  I used liquid acrylics from Liquitex for this project and Colorbox pigment ink in “Frost White”.  The sentiments are from WPlus9  and the sequence are from my stash. The cool thing is I made my own stencil from Tim Holtz masking sheets and circle dies from My Favorite Things. Check it out:

Bokah Stencil

Making your own stencils allow you to make whatever size you want and you don’t have to worry about the medium used on it or if it gets ruined. These come in 6  by 12 sheets so you can make your own 6 x 6 stencils.  Very fun. I will warn you that you do need to run the dies through a few times and make sure you put in a shim.

Just love a fun creative Saturday.  Please stop by and let me know what you are doing in your craft room today.

Love School

Love School

Happy Friday All!  I’ve created a back to school card this morning using Mojo Monday Sketch and Simon Says Stamp Alphabet Stencil sprayed with Dylusions sprays.  The paper is from My Mind’s Eye “Adventure” pack and I created a textured piece using a Bity Stencil by Balzer’s Design.  Sentiment is My Favorite Things and Image is from Doodle Pantry colored with Copics, cut out with a My Favorite Things Stitched die, and edged with distress ink in antique linen.  Finally, I used fibers from Tim Holtz.

Simon Says Stamp August Kit-Using Doodle Pantry Digital Image

Still working on that August Simon Says Stamp kit and today, I’m using a Doodle Pantry image that is….gasp….pre-colored!  These colored images are a great way to do a quick card.  I did take the Copic markers to the small ice cream and edged the image with Spun Sugar Distress Ink.  Square die is My Favorite Things. The design is using the MoJo Monday #358

Watercolor From the Heart

I love this little image from My Favorite Things called “I’m raptor around your finger”.  I clear heat embossed over Black Versafine ink and then colored him with distress ink and my watercolor brush on watercolor paper.  The background is tumbled glass diluted with lots of water.  The sketch is also from My Favorite Things offered at the Wednesday Stamp Club challenge.  The paper is Bazzill called “Dino-Mite”.  Sentiment is Tim Holtz “Simple Sayings” and heart is die cut from Spellbinders die and covered with glossy accents.

Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit – Card 4

Finally back to my August Simon Says Stamp Card kit for August.  Today, I’ve used a Paper Shelter digi and sketch by Freshly Made Sketches.  I colored this cute digi with Copics and used a sentiment from My Favorite Things “I’m Raptor around your fingers” set.  The cool edges of green paper are using the new Paper Smooches die that creates faux stitching.  Great set of dies.

Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit #5

Here’s another August Card Kit card this time using the other half of the dies I used in my previous card.  I inlayed them into the card this time to make a fairly flat card.  Love that look, don’t you?  The cone is watercolored with distress ink and I embossed the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink and clear powder.

A Day For Daisies Round Card

Sweet Friends

Sweet Friends

I hardly ever make round cards but the challenge for A Day For Daisies called for one so I made sure it would fit into a standard envelope so I can include it in my Operation Write Home box.  This image from ADFD is colored with copics in the blue violet family.  The paper is Glitz “Hello Darling”.  I distressed the edges and inked them with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  The banners and sentiment are from Simon Says Stamp. Circle Die is My Favorite Things and scallop is Spellbinder.
