Ellen Hutson’s June Pin Sight Challenge
Happy Saturday! Today I’ve made a card for Ellen Hutson’s Pin Sight Challenge. This is a super fun challenge that offers a great prize!
Here’s the inspiration:
I began by stamping Wish Big by Julie Ebersole in Hero Arts Shadow Ink then colored them with Copic Markers. I added some highlights in the balloons with my favorite white Signo Uniball then splattered with gold and black. I added the card panel crooked to give a little birthday whimsy.

30 Day Color Challenge with Kathy at the Daily Marker
This is round 2 of the 30 day color Challenge at The Daily Marker. If you are not familiar with Kathy’s work, you are truly missing the work of an artist. She wields a copic marker like a fine instrument. Her coloring is jaw dropping and for 30 days she is doing a daily project to inspire all of us to do some coloring.
The theme this go around is Watercolor! I just got a few Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens so this was perfect timing. Right now, Marker Supply has the 12 pen set for only 19.99. That is the lowest I’ve seen around, even less than Amazon and much less then the other stores I normal buy my card making supplies.
My card is made with the My Favorite Things “You Gnome Me” stamp set. I used the Kuretake pens and tried it both with water and without water. They way you can blend these markers together is amazing. For example, the mushrooms below are brown, orange, and yellow mixed directly on the page, no water, no palette, nothing. These markers are all that right now so I just had to see what the fuss was all about. Okay – I’m hooked. I’ve already put in my second order for more (shhh don’t tell Bob). The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp “Happy & Smile” from the new June card Kit.

Lawnscaping Challenge – Try a New Technique
Today I broke out my distress ink cubes to watercolor with for the Lawnscaping “Try a New Technique” challenge. I hadn’t had a chance to use the “Soy Happy” stamp set so I thought the two would be a good merge.
I started with the new Tim Holtz stencil called “Mesh” using old paper distress ink. After watercoloring all the images on watercolor paper stamped with archival ink I fussy cut them and went around with a black pen to clean up the edges (for more on how to do this check out my other post). I arranged the images and stamped the heart coloring it with Pigma Archival Brush Pen in red.
Thanks for stopping by!

Ellen Hutson & Lawn Fawn Pinspiration
Happy Tuesday! Today I’ve made a birthday card for Ellen Hutson’s new “Mix It Up Challenge” with Lawn Fawn. I just love this stamp set by Ellen & Julie Ebersole. I also added in Lawn Fawn’s bird from Critters in the Forest. The animals are colored with Copic Markers and the Balloons are Distress Ink in Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Shabby Shutters, and Peacock Feathers. The stars are a combination of Lawn Fawn and Simon Says Stamp. I inlayed the balloons, but added dimension with foam tape for the entire card panel.

March Simon Says Stamp Kit Card 5 & 6
Here are a couple more cards from the March Kit. The first card features the sketch from Retro Sketches and the second is a sketch from Fusion Card Challenge. In addition to the kit, I used the rectangle dies from Lawn Fawn and both Hero Arts Shadow and Simon Says Stamp inks.

A Day For Daisies Polka Dots
You know I love Saturdays and the time I get to spend creating. Today I colored A Day For Daisies image called, “Mailing Love” for the Polka Dot Challenge. I colored her with Copic Markers and Uniball Signo White Gel Pen. Sentiment is Our Daily Bread, “Ornate Frame Sentiments”. I cut the image and surrounding papers with Lawn Fawns rectangle dies. I stamped the My Favorite Things “Romantic” background stamp on the card base but I’m sure you’ve noticed it’s upside down! Darn I hate when I do that. Oh well, not worth scrapping the card. LOL.
Simon Says Stamp Feb Kit
Happy Saturday! I’m finishing up my February Simon Says Stamp kit because the March kit is on it’s way! This kit has been one of my favorites and for this card I’m using the Operation Write Home Sketch 248. I’ve used several dies from My Favorite Things and Simon Says Stamp. The red heart is a wood veneer element covered in red paint and clear crackle paint in rock candy. I also used the script stamp from My Favorite things and a Cuttlebug texture folder. The background is a mixture of the gold gelato and distress inks.

Sketch Saturday Challenge #345 – Sami Stamps
It’s Saturday morning and that means it’s time for a new Sketch Saturday challenge. This week we are being sponsored by the talented Sami Stamps who is offering a generous $12.00 gift certificate to the random winner of the challenge.
Here’s the Sketch:
How about a little inspiration? This adorable image from Sami is called, “Sweet Girl”. I colored her with Copic Markers and used an impression obsession background stamp in versamark. The stars, circle, and label dies are all My Favorite Things and the scallop die is Lifestyle Crafts. The sentiment is WPlus 9 “Hand Lettered Hello”. I finished her off with a few sequins and called her a sketch!
Won’t you join us this week?

A Day For Daisies
One of the challenges I personally love participating in is the A Day For Daisies. One of the reasons I enjoy participating is that Tammy, the owner and artist is kind enough to provide freebies for each and every participant. Thanks Tammy! Today I colored Doll Face Beauty #5 with copics for this weeks challenge that calls for use of ombre. I took my favorite Kuretake Watercolors and used the golds, copper and pearl to create a ombre background. The sentiment is Clearly Besotted. I kept the rest of the card very clean and simple.
