The House That Stamps Built: Photo Inspiration

It’s the third Wednesday of the Month and time for The House That Stamps Built photo inspiration challenge.  For June we a great woodgrain pelican.

As with all our challenges, let the photo be your guide and use your creativity to inspire you.  You have until Tuesday, June 21st to enter for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate at Repeat Impressions.  If you use a Repeat Impressions stamp, you’ll get an extra entry!

Here’s the inspiration chosen by our Rock Stars:

Pelican

I didn’t have a pelican so I chose this great duck in flight called “Duck Take Off 2914-I”.  Then, I turned to the woodgrain pattern.  I researched Pinterest and found a fabulous technique that starts with good old Elmer’s Glue applied in a few places and dried.  Then you score randomly, or uniformly, whichever you prefer.  After that, you apply distress ink in Antique Linen, Rusty Hinge, and Stormy Sky.  I used white card stock but it may look even better on kraft.  Here is the link if you want to get more details.

  5. Beautiful!! That background is fabulous! And the CAS style of the card really lets it shine, while the frame around your image still allows it to be the focal. Great job! Sorry, I’m so late in leaving a comment, I won’t even bother with excuses!!
