Hello fellow Hero Art’s Friends!
Kathy, The Crafty Nurse here with you today for my take on a this month’s “A Bit of Sparkle” challenge going on all month at A Blog Named Hero. This month we are collaborating with Simon Says Stamp so you’ll definitely want to join.
For my sparkle, I chose to use IndigoBlu’s Mega Flake. The colors are amazing in real life and the technique is super easy using the Hero Arts cling stamp from Sweet Threads.
Here’s a close-up of both the mega flake and Simon Says Stamp “Thanks” die.
We’ve added the current challenge to the side-bar on the right over at A Blog Named Hero so you can find it quickly to enter. Can’t wait to see your “A Bit of Sparkle” cards this month. Have fun!
It’s Friday and time for A Day For Daisies Kit Club Release! In addition, we are still running the “All My Love” challenge so I sure hope you’ll pop by the ADFD Blog by February 11th at noon to enter your card for a chance to win some free images!
For my card today I chose “Stick Horse Ride” to color for you today. I used a combination of Kuretake Gamsi Watercolors and Copic Markers for this adorable image. I started by printing out the image, masking it with liquid masking fluid, then once that dried, watercolored deep pigment in several places to create whimsy. Once that dried, I removed the mask and colored in with Copics. Don’t be alarmed, sometimes the liquid masking fluid makes the printer ink run a little. I don’t think it’s noticeable so give it a try.
I die cut the large flag with a My Favorite Thing Die, used a Tim Holtz embossing folder, die cut my die-versions “happy” sentiment, splattered with more watercolor paint and finished up with stickles. Whew!
Welcome to our From the Heart Stamps February blog hop. This month we are showcasing Faith’s “Project 100 Snowmen.” If you are not familiar with this project, Faith, the creator of From The Heart Digital Images committed to completing 100 snowmen as an artistic goal. There are some images that contain more than one snowmen and there is no deadline, but she sure has come up with some adorable images. Best of all, she is offering many of them for only a dollar!
As you hop along, please leave a comment on each blog. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from the FTHS store.
For my project, I wanted to feature “Snow Girl” using a Valentine theme. This past week I received the Splitcoast Stampers newsletter and saw a cool four (4) Way card by Dina Kowal so I immediately thought what a great way to feature this adorable image. I colored this sweet snow girl with my Copic Markers in R85, R83, R81, W5, W3, & W1. My design paper is American Crafts “Valentine” collection I found at AC more for dirt cheap. The heart die is from Nellie’s Dies and has several sizes to choose from. I used a few embellishments from the My Favorite Things Tag Blueprints 5 die. The image is floating in the heart by a bit of bakers twine in pink.
Now head over to Kelly Schelske’s and see what she has created.
Thanks for hopping with us today. The hop will end on Monday February 8th at 6 am EST. Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps Blog on Wednesday February 10th.
