Crafting By Design – Guest Designer

Hello all.  I’m honored to have been chosen again as a guest designer for Crafting By Design.  Today, the challenge is “snowmen” and I knew that From The Heart Stamps would be a great choice to find a perfect snowman because Faith is in the middle of Project 100 snowmen.

For my card I chose From The Heart Stamps “Snowman Drummer.” I colored him with Copics and used Lawn Fawn’s “Peace, Joy, Love” paper collection.  The great digi tree’s are from “In The Meadow,” also FTHS.  The snow globe digi is by My Favorite Things and the stickers are Basic Grey.

The House That Stamps Built; Designer Choice Challenge

It’s the second Wednesday of November which means it’s time for a Designers Choice Challenge at The House That Stamp Built!  Today, Karen is hosting our challenge and she has chosen “Focus On The Sentiment”  With the new sentiments stamps from Repeat Impressions, this is a fabulous idea!

As with our other challenges, we are offering a $25.00 gift certificate to the Repeat Impressions store for our random winner.  Don’t forget, if you use a RI stamp, you get an extra entry!

For my “Focus On The Sentiment” card I began by stamping “O Christmas Tree 3211-M”  with versamark and white heat embossed. I then used distress inks to cover the entire card and using a diffuser, dry embossed with a folder which allowed the sentiment to be the focus of the card. I added some silver glitter paper and a few sequins!

Using the sentiment as a focal point is a great idea for holiday card making. Please show us your cards at The House that Stamps Built. Happy Wednesday!

Technique Junkies – 30 Days of Christmas, Day 28

Hello Junkies!

The Crafty Nurse here celebrating Day 28 of the 30 Days Of Christmas.  I am casing Pat’s card she posted in the TJ Inkspirations a few weeks ago where she heat embossed the “Winter Foliage” stamp on vellum, then colored with markers on the backside.

For my card, I embossed with Liquid Platinum powder by Ranger on vellum then colored with a combination of Copics and Faber Castell Pit Pens. My sentiment is die cut three times from Tim Holtz’s “Holiday Words” thinlits.  To add shine, I applied Pico Embellisher Irresistible in Shimmer.

We would love for you to keep following the Design Team Blog for more Christmas ideas using the Technique Junkies stamps.  There are only a few days left so we hope you’ve enjoyed the cards and found inspiration for your holiday card making.

By for now,

The Crafty Nurse
