It’s Friday and time for a new challenge at A Day For Daisies! This week we are adding “Texture” to our projects. The challenge will run through Thursday, November 19th at noon on the A Day For Daisies Blog!
For my card today I used the absolutely adorable new image called, “Flying Fairy Song” The coloring is with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. After I colored the image, I run it through an embossing folder using an oval diffuser. Then I inked the raised texture with silver pigment ink by Hero Arts and added a mishmash of embossing enamels, Fran’tage Flakes, and embossing powders. I mean I really just added a bunch of different powders from my stash, put it on edges after applying versamark to help it stick, and heat set from the back to make sure the embossing powder grabbed the big flakes.
My sentiment is from My Favorite Things and the tag is a Simon Says Stamp die. If you haven’t added texture by selecting different powders, I’d encourage you to give it a whirl!
We’d also love for you to visit our Facebook Community Page where you can post your creations in addition to adding them on the blog. Adding texture to your projects is super fun and I can’t wait to see what your creations bring this week.
Welcome to our From the Heart Stamps blog hop. This month we are bringing you two for the price of one! The theme is “Clean & Simple and Over The Top.” This means we are using the same image and making two cards. One card will be “CAS” and the other “Over The Top.”
As you hop along, please leave a comment on each blog. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from the FTHS store.
Here is my Clean & Simple version using “Mistletoe Birdbrains” colored with Copic Markers and embellished with a bit of holiday ribbon. Can’t get much more Clean & Simple!
For my “over the top” version, I used the same “Mistletoe Birdbrains” image, which I colored with copics, but added falling snow using Lawn Fawn stamps in silver Hero Arts Pigment Ink. The DCWV glitter paper is cut with a Memory Box die and popped up over my image. For the snow, I added Stampendous “Shaved Ice” with Gel Medium and finished the card off with a string of light bulbs. I found this a super fun challenge because I don’t often break out the embellishments and go to town.
Now head over to Kelly Schelske’s and see what she has created.
Thanks for hopping with us today. The hop will end on Monday November 9th at 6 am EST. Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps Blog on Wednesday November 11th.
Happy Friday! It’s time for a new Brown Sugar Challenge and this week “Tag Your It” is our theme. You can use a tag on your card, make a tag, or find an image with a tag. As always, be creative!
Our sponsor for this challenge is Crafty Sentiments offering 3 digital images from their store. Thanks Crafty Sentiments!!
For my card today, I colored Christmas Penquin” with Copic Markers after die cutting him out of a My Favorite Things tag. For the snow, I stamped Hero Arts Silver Pigment Ink using a Simon Says Stamp called, “Be Joyful”, then clear embossed it for shine. My design paper is from Carta Bella called “Bundled Up.”
We look forward to seeing what your “Tag Your It” cards look like. You have until November 12th to enter at Brown Sugar Challenges. See you there!
