Lindy’s Stamp Gang November Color Challenge w/Technique Junkies
Hello Crafty Friends! I love the monthly Lindy’s Color Challenges and today I finished my card for the November entry. For this month I’ve combined the Lindy’s Challenge with some Art Anthology Products I’ve purchased at Technique Junkies. Right now, all Christmas stamps are on sale as are all November releases stamps through November the 8th. Just a few more days so don’t miss out!
Here are the gorgeous colors this month:
I’m also entering the card in the Mixed Medial Challenge #18 – Add Texture.
For the Lindy’s challenge, I used a combination of Sprays and Magical Mica’s. I began by creating the background on a piece of old cardboard which I painted with heavy body gesso. I then applied sprays in Golden Sleigh Bells and Bucket of Blood Red and mixed up magicals to create sprays in Canna Lily Orange and Poincianna Red Flame.
Once my background was dried, I mixed up some Golden Sleigh Bells with Translucent Texture Paste and stenciled through the “Retro Tiles” stencil by Art Anthology. I used up the remaining paste to create texture around the edges.
Now it’s on the creating the flowers. I sprayed the flowers with Canna Lily Orange, Poincianna Red Flame, and Golden Sleigh Bells. I finished the middles with “Black Leather Jacket” Dimensional Sorbet. I also mixed some glass bead gel by Liquitex with Poincianna Red Flame to create that vibrant red texture on the My Favorite Things Feather and edged it with more of the Black Leather Jacket Art Anthology paint. I created the buttons by spraying Canna Lily Orange and applying Golden Sleigh Bells Magicals. Then in the middle of the buttons, I applied hero arts gems and sealed it with Art Anthology “Splashed” which is a fabulous clear coat finish with shine.
To get some of the green in my project, I mixed Greased Lightening Green Magical with water and applied it to a Basic Grey wood stick and Maya Road tickets.
I’d say we’ve achieved some texture!

Texture, indeed! I didn’t know what I should prepare to see with a color called Bucket of Blood Red, but it’s beautiful! Do I see more mixed media in your future?
