We are ringing in the Holidays for the September Technique Junkies Blog Hop. This release features Halloween and Christmas for your upcoming holiday crafting. The fabulous Technique Junkie Design Team will be hosing a blog hop to showcase the new holiday stamps and spark creative ideas for your festive inking.
Pat is again offering 15% off all September Release Stamps for one week! In addition to new stamps, Technique Junkies has added more new products to the store including stencils, art anthology colorations, Prills, and a variety of fun dimensional mediums perfect for those who like to play with ink.
My first card uses the Color Sandwich Technique from the Simple & Easy Inking CD for the background. The inks used were Twisted Citron, Black Soot, and Ripe Persimmon. Once all my colors were laid down I inked Versamark through the Spider Web Tim Holtz Stencil and applied clear powder. This added some texture without taking away from the technique. The focal image is “Black Cat SD615,” which I embossed then watercolored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The sentiment “Fright Night SDX054” was again stamped over a Spider Web stenciled background of Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink.
My second card uses the “Depth of Field Technique also from the Simple & Easy Inking Techniques CD”. This worked so well with the Set of 6 stamps in “Christmas Trees #SS045.” I love the variety of trees in this set and can’t wait to make more cards using it. After creating the depth of field background, I did some inlayed die cutting using the Papertrey Ink “Peace” die. To make it pop-up I cut out four “peace” words and stacked them up. The colors used are from Hero Arts Shadow inks in Vanilla, Royal Red, Charcoal and Field Green.
My next two cards feature the stunning sentiment called, “Merry Christmas #SD654.” This sentiment is so beautiful on it’s own I wanted to keep my cards very clean and simple. I heat embossed the image on both cards and added sequins for some embellishment. The first cards background die is from Our Daily Bread and the second is Memory Box.
Now, that I’ve shown you what I have to offer, I don’t want you to miss any of the other design teams creativity so I encourage you to start hopping at the Technique Junkies Design Team Blog.
If you are arriving from Robin Redd’s Blog, you in the right place! Gorgeous project Robin!

Hello KennyK friends. Today I’m back as guest designer for the new “Halloween Challenge” at the KennyK Krafty Krew’s Blog. The challenge runs through September 14th so we’d love to have you come over and enter a card for a chance to win some great prizes.
Fall and Halloween are some of my favorite themes to color and if you are a KennyK fan you know there are a lot of options to work with. Today I used “Trixie Treat, one of the KennyK Gothik Angelz Collection. I colored this stunner with Copic Markers in E000, Eoo, E21, E11, E04 and R20 for skin. In V01, V04, V05, V06 for hair. In YG03, G21, G94 & G99 for dress and hat. In Y15, YR15 and YR18 for pumpkin and boots.
For the background I printed another image from regular printer paper to make a mask, then I took the Tim Holtz Spider Web stencil and inked over the masked image with the new Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.
The paper pack is from DCWV “The Spooky Time Stack.” I framed the image with a My Favorite Things Frame die in black card stock.
I hope you will join in for the 202nd KennyK Challenge featuring “Halloween.” Happy Crafting!
