Sketch Saturday Challenge #369
Happy Saturday Friends! Today’s new Sketch Saturday challenge is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp who is offering a very generous $25.00 gift certificate to their store for our random winner. You have until Friday, July 17th for a chance to win.
Here’s the sketch:
For my card I chose a gorgeous new stamp set I purchased at Simon Says Stamp by Wplus9 called, “Doodle Buds.” I was inspired by Kathy over at “The Daily Marker”, when she shared her Day 9 project during her most recent Color Challenge. Kathy’s work amazes me so if you haven’t checked her out, please do.
I must admit I had to purchase the new Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I held back a little and didn’t get all the colors. To help me decide, I used Jennifer McQuire’s color chart. What I like best about these is they blend so well without even using water. I found that you really do need to use watercolor paper for the best results.
After I colored my flowers I broke out my June “Simon Says Stamp Card Kit” for the paper elements. I cut out a border using Lawn Fawn’s scalloped die and a My Favorite Things rectangle die. The colorful rainbow band is from Washi Tape in the kit that I placed on a piece of white card stock for stability. I finished by stamping the heart element from Wplus9 “Buble Talk.”
I can’t wait to see what you come up with using the new Sketch Saturday Sketch! Oh, and don’t forget to stop by the Sketch Saturday Facebook Page and give is a like!

Beautiful card, I love the look of the zigs, I went with the SAI which were more limited in colour choice but cheaper. I like the thought of these for taking when you dont want to take a watercolour kit with you but I dont think they are a great price in that they are not refillable so still on the fence a bit here. I love the distress inks and wish they would come up with a travel pallet for the inks. Anyway back to your card, it really is beautiful, I love that stamp set.

They are definitely pricey but because I could pick and choose the colors I wanted I felt it was reasonable enough. I really like them because they blend so, so well. I do hear that they last a long time but for those of us used to Copics and refills, it’s a bummer they are consumable. Thanks for your sweet comment.
