Operation Write Home Memorial Day Blog Hop
Hello Friends. It’s time for the annual Operation Write Home Memorial Day Blog Hop. This is a special hop as our mission this year is finishing strong because Operation Write Home is closing it’s doors! I’d love for you to help me get the word out that we need to finish strong. That means we still need cards, but they must be sent in no later than August 1, 2015.
For your participation in the hop, if you leave a comment on my blog I am giving away a brand new Dylusions Paint jar in Bubblegum Pink!
So let’s get to a little inspiration. For my card I broke out my old tools of dry embossing, the light table and stylus. One thing I had forgotten was you have to reverse the stencil so the image comes out in the right direction. My first go had my flag facing left and that just won’t do! HAHA.
I inked the edges with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo to create the distressed look. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink “Military Hero” stamp set. Paper is from Farmhouse “Fair Skies” collection.
Please leave me a comment and if you like what you see, sign up to get my e-mail notifications for more inspiration.
Happy Hopping and don’t forget, please continue to send your cards into OWH until August 1st!

Happy Saturday crafters! It’s time to sing at Open-Minded Crafting! Ha, Ha, just seeing if you are paying attention. Well, we are kind of singing today as our challenge will be based on a song inspiration.
As usual we have some great sponsors for this challenge so I hope you’ll join us. You have until Friday, June 5th to enter. Our design team will also choose their favorite so check back to see if your card was featured at Open-Minded Crafting Challenges.
Here’s our sponsors this week and the prizes they are offering:
Prize:One Digi Under $3.00 and a one time 15% off coupon
Prize: 3 Free Images of Winners Choice
Prize: Custom Digital Image for Winner
Prize: 7 Images of Winners Choice
For my card today, I used, “Cute Giraffe” by Chi Chi Memories. The song that inspired my card was a child’s book called “Giraffe’s Can’t Dance.” If you want a chuckle, I’ve linked you to a cute video with the song on YouTube.
The “Cute Giraffe” was colored with copic markers and fussy cut. The background and sentiment was created using an older Club Scrap stamp set called “Cute As A Button” stamped with Hero Arts Shadow Ink. The squares are cut out using My Favorite Things Stitched dies and I finished off the card with a few pearls.
I can’t wait to see what you are singing this challenge!
