Open-Minded Crafting Challenge: No Pink or Red

Red is my favorite color, so this weeks Open-Minded Crafting Challenge asking us NOT to use pink or red on our card had me stretching outside of my normal favorite colors, but all in all, I’m quite pleased with the outcome.  Now before we get to my card, lets talk about the wonderful sponsors we have for our challenge this week and the great prizes they are offering. You have until Friday, February 13th to enter your card.

Here’s our sponsors:

OakpondPrize: 3 Images of Winners Choice

TheArtofRonnePBarton_zps4d0590d1Prize: 2 Images of Winners Choice

Faery InkPrize: 3 Images of Winners Choice

bugbadge2_zpsf61bba10Prize: 7 Images of Winners Choice

Now, let’s get to some inspiration!  For this challenge I chose a new sponsor to me, Ronnie Barton.  If you haven’t looked at Ronnie’s store, I really think you are missing out, especially if you fancy fairies.  The image I chose is called, “Peek-a-boo Fairy”.  I colored her with my go to Copic Markers making sure to put away my pink and red tones.  I focused mostly with the blue/green family with some added purple.  I finished the card off with some white highlights using my uniball signo white pen.  The paper is from Amy Tangerine’s “Plus-One”.

I can’t wait to see how you use some new colors on your cards!
