The following card is intended as an application for the Lawn Fawn Facebook Inspiration team. I adore Lawn Fawn’s images and would love to participate in inspiring others. Today, I used the “Our Friendship Grows” stamp set colored with distress inks & markers in scattered straw, gathered twigs, rusty hinge, frayed burlap, walnut stain, peeled paint, shabby shutters, and worn lipstick. The design paper is from the October Simon Says Stamp kit and the sunflowers are stamped on Strathmore’s 140lb Watercolor paper.
Still working on finishing my October Card kit in preparation for Novembers kit soon arriving. In celebration of my Birthday, I’ve created a Birthday card using a My Favorite Things “Celebrate” die. I backed it with black card stock so it would stand out in front of the striped paper. I added some faux stitching and some paper pieced balloons from a dollar stamp set from Michael’s.
It’s Monday and instead of having to work, I’m home celebrating my birthday doing the thing I love to do the most, create! Today marks a new sketch challenge for From The Heart Stamps. Today is a little different, in that you get to pick any previous FTH Sketch – That’s so fun! I chose sketch 48. I’ve been wanting to color the lighthouse, which I did using Copic markers. The paper is from My Minds Eye “Boy Crazy” 6 x 6 pad and the sentiment is from a Sweet & Sassy stamp set called “You & Me”. I hope you will find some inspiration from my card and join us this week at From The Heart Stamps. Oh, and don’t forget, you can use the twist, which is a gorgeous color pallet this week, or you can just use the sketch you choose. As you can see I just used the sketch. Happy Card making!
Happy Birthday to ME!!!!!
As we quickly approach Halloween, Cards in Envy is hosting a challenge that will help you celebrate – Any “WITCH” way you can. Yes, we’d love you to make and enter a card using a witch. Your witch can be friendly, scary, funny, or anything in between and don’t forget, must be able to fit in an envelope. The challenge is running through Sunday, November 2, 2014, so I would love to have a great birthday present and see you enter the challenge so I can see “WITCH” way you can.
For some inspiration, I’ve used a Paper Smooches Witch from the Halloweenies stamp set as well as dies from Halloween Icons. The lamp post is from Cheery Lynn Dies and the fence is from Impressions Obsessions. The “greenish” paper is made with FW Pearlescent Liquid Acrylics by Daler Rowney in Genesis Green. The paper pack is DCWV “Spooky Time” 6 x 6 pad. Now come on over to Cards in Envy and show us your WITCH!
