Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge #89: CELEBRATE!

Happy Saturday Friends!  It’s time for another Send a Smile 4 Kids (SAS4Kids) challenge and the theme for this entry is CELEBRATE!  Whoo Hoo!  We’ve been seeing lots of halloween, fall, and autumn cards and while those are stunning, SAS4kids is taking a few weeks to have a challenge on celebration.  It can be anything you celebrate for kids like birthdays, graduations, a job well done or heck, just celebrate the gorgeous day!  As is traditional with SAS4Kids, we have some spectacular sponsors and this week is no different.  As I mentioned in our last challenge SAS4 Kids is about celebration and bringing some joy into the lives of kids who are ill and hospitalized.  We’d love for you to enter our challenge and when you are done, sending in some cards of celebration to lift the spirits of a little one in need.

As is our custom, we have some fantastic sponsors this challenge who are offering amazing prizes for randomly chosen winners.  The design team will also be acknowledging their card favorites so there are lots of chances to win.  Our sponsors and prizes for this challenge are:

1) The Paper Shelter:  a $20.00 Gift Certificate

2) Crackerbox Palace: 3 Images of winners choice

3) Stitchy Bear:  2 Images for a total value of $6.00

My first inspiration offering today uses the pre-colored digital image and background from The Paper Shelter’s “Brave & Cute Knight”.  I printed him out twice and made the second print a little smaller so I could pop it up with dimensional tape and there would be an obvious second image on top.  I also brought the image into Photoshop Elements and added my own title Hip Hip Hooray!  That’s one of the great things with The Paper Shelter’s images, they are so high quality you can really make some cool combinations with your images and paper.  I finished the top off with a My Favorite Things scalloped die to frame up the card.

My second inspiration card uses a digital image from Crackerbox Palace called “Smiley”.  I colored him with copic markers and used a texture folder from Tim Holtz Alterations line on a transparency.  I really liked the feeling of bubbles in the background.  The paper I used is from American Crafts, “Hip, Hip, Hooray” 6 x 6 pad. The Birthday die is Paper Trey Ink. It’s also hard to see, but the whole card is on a white card base.
