Operation Write Home Sketch 238 & Our Daily Bread October Card

I combined the Operation Write Home Sketch #238 with the Our daily bread October challenge listed on the OWH Blog which calls for a winter card that is non-Christmas.   My first thought was to do white on white snowflakes, which I should have stuck with, but decided to break out my Wink Of Stella silver pen and colored the snowflakes.  Then I remembered NO GLITTER on an OWH card – so I covered it with embossing powder and melted multiple layers, then froze it so it would crack.  The silver snowflakes now look grey.  Oh well, it’s the thought that counts!  The paper is one from a few years ago by Little Yellow Bicycle called “Winterings”, I do really like it.  My sentiment is from My Favorite Things and the sequins in pretty pink posh.

  1. I like the effect of your snowflakes even if they do look grey. The cracked embossing adds to the frosty feel of the card. That is a fun sentiment to pair with the image too! Well done!

  3. I love the pretty blues and greys on your card. I’ve never heard of freezing an embossed image to give it the cracked look. Very fun! Thanks for playing along with this month’s ODBD challenge.
