Happy Monday! It’s time for another Cards in Envy challenge using the theme of Autumn Leaves. I would love your support in this challenge by entering a card. You have a full two weeks for this challenge which runs through October 19th (a day before my birthday, shhhhh). As I said a few days ago, the fall leaves are out in their full glory here in Upstate New York and the views are just breathtaking so it wasn’t hard for me to be inspired for a Autumn Leaves challenge. The Cards in Envy challenge asks that your cards fit into a standard A2 envelope for ease of mailing, but that doesn’t mean they have to be one layer or clean and simple as you can see from my card. I thought for this challenge I would offer an Autumn Leaves card with a Halloween focus. My inspiration card uses a My Favorite Things Pure Innocent stamp called “Pretty Pumpkins” that I watercolored using distress markers. The paper is from DCWV “Spooky Time” 6 x 6 pad and the tree with leaves die is from Paper Smooches, which I edged with gathered twigs distress inks. The stitched circle die is from My Favorite Things and I created the “ground” in the circle with the Simon Says Stamp curved edge die. Hope you like it and enter a card with us at Cards in Envy!
Happy Monday! Okay – Monday’s aren’t usually my favorite day, but today, I am sharing my card for Sketch Challenge #82 as a Guest Design Team member at From The Heart Stamps. The sketch challenges have changed a little and I really like the change. Now you can either just use the sketch, just use the twist, or you can do both. Of course, being the over achiever I am, I chose to do both the sketch and the twist, which is to use paper strips or washi tape. Okay, Okay – I admit, I used both paper and washi – what can I say. Don’t you just love this gorgeous story board presentation of the sketch challenge the team at From the Heart Stamps has created? I am so honored to be a part of their guest design team program for October and November.
I’d love your support and hope you will grab an adorable image at From the Heart Stamp store and get to playing! Your entry using a From the Heart Stamps image will earn you a $1.00 to buy more of these great images and wouldn’t you know it, Faith has added some really great new images that would go perfectly with this twist.
For my card, I used the sentiment from Pumpkin Pigwit and hand cut the tag after I colored it with a Sakura clear jelly roll pen. The circles are cut with a My Favorite Things Die. The washi is from my stash as is the bakers twine and enamel dot. Now, let’s see what inspiration you come up with using the challenge sketch, the twist, or both!
