Simon Says Stamp September Kit: Card #7

I’m continuing to work through my Simon Says Stamp September kit because starting September 1st, I’m going to be taking another one of Christine Urias’ Art Journaling Classes.  They are the best – check it out here.  In fact, if you purchase Class 4 by tomorrow, you get a discount on her other classes.  This is the first time she’s put her courses on sale, so don’t miss out.

This card uses the Paper Smooches Sparks Sketch and the Hooties stamp set.  I paper pieced both the trunk and the owl.  I used one of the stickers from the kit for the sentiment.  It’s busy, but I think it works, what do you think?

Entered in:

Paper Smooches: Sparks

Crafty Sentiments: Animals

The Friday Mash-up: Animal

Brown Sugar Challenge: ATG

Clear it out: Favorite color combos & ATG

Cute Card Thursday: ATG

Top Tip Tuesday: ATG (tip: when using stickers that you want to raise with foam tape, “de-stick” them using baby powder).

The paper in this September kit is pretty busy, so the designs are more subtle.  The “learn” element is a sticker and I stamped the books using Hero Arts Shadow Ink using the kit’s stamp set called “To Thine Own Shelf”.

Entered in:

Crafty Sentiments: Animals (deer)

Simon Says Stamp: ATG

Open-Minded Crafting Challenge #18 – Office Supplies or Job Related (Labor Day)

Hello Open-Minded Crafting Challenge friends.  It’s time for a new challenge to celebrate Labor Day using Office Supplies or Job Related images.  As a creative person, I chose my design team inspiration from Scrappers Delight, “Crafty’s Honey Painter”.  Being a painter full-time would sure be a cool vocation, but alas, I will have to continue creating on the weekends and evenings!

This challenge runs through September 12, 2014, and as usual, some fantastically generous sponsors who provide great prizes for our randomly chosen winners.  The Design Team also chooses their favorite entries and those cards are highlighted in acknowledgement.  Let’s see some of those great sponsors and prizes:

Aurora Wings

Winning Prize:  $20.00 Gift Certificate

Digital Delights

Winning Prize: $5.00 Gift Certificate

Faery Ink

Winning Prize: 5 Images

Scrappers Delight

Winning Prize:  3 Images

Sentimental Susan

Winning Prize:  5 Images

Here is my inspiration for you using the Scrappers Delight, “Crafty Honeys Painter”.  Bright, huh?  I took a little liberty with some of my neon inks from Hero Arts for this card, that includes coloring her hair green and orange, but I think it works, what do you think? The dies are Sizzix and the paper is Amy Tangerine “sketchbook”.  I used Ranger Dimensional Liquid Pearls to make the colors on the paint pallet and stamped the sentiment, paint brush and pallet using Paper Smooches “i Heart art”.  I’d love it if you came by and entered a card for a chance to win some fantastic prizes.
