My Favorite Things Challenge

Brother of the Year MFTWSC190

Here is my last post for the day in which I made a card for the Wednesday Stamp Challenge at My Favorite Things.  I always try to enter this challenge as they are very generous to the winners. I also have a lot of MFT stamps from buying them in lots from Operation Write Home as a donation package.  The paper is from My Minds Eye “Adventure, which has some great masculine pages.  I used a circle die to cut the half moon shape and the star dies are from both MFT and Simon Says Stamp.  Stamps are also from an MFT donation package.

Cover Plate Negative Technique

Sunburst

A Plus

This weeks Make it Monday was a technique using the “insides” of your cover plate dies. Laurie Wilson does a video that shows you how to get these lined up perfectly using…..of all things…..Glad Press n seal wrap.  It WORKS!!!  The first card is the is simply Neenah Solar White over some Club Scrap card stock. The Wood focal point is painted with Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical Mica in Black Orchid.  The second card uses Dylusions sprays over the Simon Says Stamp “Love My Alpha” Stencil.  I hand drew the lines in the starburst using my copic 0.3 marker and the focal point A+ is also using Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical’s in Bells of Ireland and backed with black paper.

Bokeh Technique

Bokah Card

Bokah examples

Happy Saturday!  I saw this cool video from WPlus 9 that teaches how to do the Bokeh technique easily.  You can find it here.  I used liquid acrylics from Liquitex for this project and Colorbox pigment ink in “Frost White”.  The sentiments are from WPlus9  and the sequence are from my stash. The cool thing is I made my own stencil from Tim Holtz masking sheets and circle dies from My Favorite Things. Check it out:

Bokah Stencil

Making your own stencils allow you to make whatever size you want and you don’t have to worry about the medium used on it or if it gets ruined. These come in 6  by 12 sheets so you can make your own 6 x 6 stencils.  Very fun. I will warn you that you do need to run the dies through a few times and make sure you put in a shim.

Just love a fun creative Saturday.  Please stop by and let me know what you are doing in your craft room today.
