From the Heart Sketch & Stamp of the Month

Here is the Stamp of the Month sponsored by From the Heart Stamps when you enter in their challenge anytime during August.  I used Sketch 74 from I {heart} card sketches challenge, paper from My Minds Eye and sentiment from the same stamp set.  The digi is colored with Copic markers in my favorite pumpkin colors YR04, YR07, YR09 and R08.  The piggy is colored with E93, E95 and R12, a combination I’ve never used before.  I added a few faux buttons from My Favorite Things and faux stitched scallop die from Lawn Fawn.

Try Stampin’ on Tuesday – Extra Post

Due to the transition of new design team members, I pitched in and made an additional few cards for Try Stampin’ on Tuesday Design Team.  This card is made with the August Simon Says Stamp Card Kit, Lawn Fawn “Blue Skies”, and sentiment from Winnie and Walter.  I watercolored the balloon and clouds and paper-pieced the flag banner.  The theme this summer at Try Stampin’ on Tuesday is “do what makes you happy”.  Now, what’s not happy about this card, Huh?   Stop on by and enter a card, we’d love to see your creations!

Online Card Classes – Stretch Your Stamps 2 – Day 1 – Card 2

Here is my interpretation of Kristina Werner’s example of using background stamps after watercoloring them in class for Day 1 in the Stretch Your Stamps 2 class at Online Card Classes.  I used the Penny Black “Retro” background stamp and watercolored it after clear heat embossing.  I then highlighted the details of the stamp with a fine brush, thereby adding pops of color.  I then used a My Favorite Things die for sentiment and stars.  The Happy is from WPlus9 “hello” set.  The background stamp on the card base is Impression Obsession stamped with Hero Arts Shadow inks in lemon yellow, lime green, and soft stone.  The frame is from a scrap I watercolored previously – never throw away those scraps!

This second card uses the Penny Black base as noted above.  I stacked up the black birthday die multiple times, then used wink of stella, which can’t really be appreciated in the scan.  Happy sentiment is Clearly Besotted.

I’m looking forward to Day 2 of the Online Card Class, but for now, I’m off to work!
