This is the last challenge of the evening for me. Whew, I’ve made a lot of cards today! Hope you aren’t getting sick of them! This challenge called for a vintage, masculine card. I pulled out an old Club Scrap set called Varsity and used Hero Arts Shadow Ink. The background uses two Impression Obsession stamps called Crackle and Scratches. The edges are distressed with Antique Linen Distress Ink.
This OWH Challenge calls for a Missing You card using at least two banners and one circle. I love a challenge that allows you to use your own creativity. The supplies are all from the Simon Says Stamp July Card Kit. This kit just keeps on giving. Dies used are from My favorite Things and include, pierced flags, pierced circles, and frame. I colored the envelops with C1 and C4 Copic Markers.
This challenges calls for making two cards, one a Christmas or Holiday card and one a non-holiday card. I used WPlus9’s, Woodland Wreaths stamps and dies. Stamping done with Hero Arts Shadow Ink and birch and bird die is impression obsession. The Christmas card has twine to simulate a hanging wreath as seen by Kristina Werner. I also used the new “stitched” dies from Paper Smooches. I don’t have a sewing machine so I thought these would do the trick.
The technique for this card was to make your own background. I used the Sketchbook Saturday Sketch as a base, then used one of my favorite techniques taught by Julie Ebersole using Dylusions Ink Spray and Water. It’s really easy and looks great. All you do is emboss your image with white and then spray it down (really well) with water. Take a paint brush and apply ink by blotting in the puddles. It initially doesn’t look great but when it dries, it lightens. Sentiment is WPlus9 “Hand Lettered Hello”.
Here is another card using the Simon Says Stamp July Card Kit with added balloon embellishment and twine from my stash and birthday sentiment from Hero Arts. The shape is die cut from Sizziz/Tim Holtz Bigz die called “ornamental”. Ink is Hero Arts Shadow in Navy and SSS Lipstick Red.
I’m thrilled to announce my debut post for Open-Minded Crafting Challenge as a new Design Team member! This is a great, themed challenge offering multiple prizes and lasting for a full two weeks. For this challenge the theme is Water, Water, Everywhere. Our sponsors are:

Here’s a little inspiration for you using Crafty Sentiment’s Digital Image “Just Relax” colored with Copic Markers. Paper is My Minds Eye “Nutmeg”, circle is My Favorite Things Die, and bubble texture is embossing folder by Cuttlebug. Isn’t he adorable! Hope you come on by and enter in this challenge – you’ve got a full two weeks to check it out.
